Nominated Supervisor & Teacher – Diploma in Teaching Early Childhood (0 to 8 years)

Jane trained in South Australia and worked for 8 years as head teacher, teaching in Child Parent Centres (Preschools) and 6 years teaching in Junior Primary Schools focusing on the first 3 years of formal education as a classroom teacher with a focus on environmental education and technology. She moved with her family to Armidale in 1997. In 1998 she was elected President of the Board of Management of St Peter’s Preschool, a position she held for 12 months. Jane was appointed to the position of part-time teacher at St Peter’s Preschool in May 2000. Jane took on the role of Director in 2016 and now works full time. She is the group leader for the Red Group.


Jane works 8.15 to 4pm Monday and Tuesday, 8.15am to 3.45pm Wednesday and Thursday and Fridays in the office

Teacher – Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood, B.A Dip.Ed, J.P.


Upon completion of her Early Childhood Degree through Macquarie University, Sharron held the position as Director of a community based preschool in Armidale for 14 years. She then taught at TAFE NE Early Childhood campus followed by nearly 5 years at St Peter’s Preschool as Director/Educator. Sharron left this position in February 2014 and worked casually as an educator in preschools. Sharron is delighted to be the Red Group leader along with Jane. 

Sharron works on Fridays from 8:30 to 3:30

Advanced Qualified Child Care Worker – Diploma in Children’s Services


Nat moved to Armidale with her young family in 2007. She has worked in a variety of Early Childhood settings as a nanny, out of school hours and vacation care, childcare worker and teacher’s aide for over 20 years. Nat has been involved with St Peter’s since her daughter attended in 2011 – 2012. In the past few years Nat has been a parent at the preschool, a board member, a student and an employee since joining the staff in Term 1 2014. Nat is responsible for the Green Group. Nat is also the Educational Leader. She is studying a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) at UNE. 

Nat works from 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday

Certificate III in Children’s Services

Jodi joined the St Peters team in 2018. She has had a long association with preschool as two of her three adult children attended the service. Jodi completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2014. She has worked in schools and other Early Childhood centres in Armidale. Jodi has a passion for children’s music and plays the acoustic guitar and piano. She is particularly influenced by the Kodaly method of musical education. Jodi teaches music on Wednesdays.


Jodi supports all educators and works from 10 to 1:30 Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri and 11.30-3.30pm Wed.

Mel has had 10 years’ experience working in early childhood from ages 0-6 year olds. Through this time she has worked as a Lead Educator and Educational Leader which has provided her with knowledge and experience to facilitate children’s learning and development. Mel has 2 young children and loves spending as much time with them as she can. Her interests include music and photography Mel wishes to further her studies over the next few years by doing her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.


Mel works from 8:30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care 


Originally from a small town called Gulgong, Kate moved to Armidale in 2008 to attend University. In 2011 she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science. Since then she has lived in several different places trying out different career avenues but in 2014 Kate decided that childcare was where she was supposed to be. Kate moved back to Armidale at the end of 2014 to be closer to family. She finished her Certificate III in June 2015 and has been employed at St Peters since the beginning of term 4 2015. Kate has completed her Diploma and her goal is to someday complete her bachelor degree. Kate supports all the groups at the preschool.

Kate works from 8:15am to 3:45pm Tuesday to Friday

Kate Whillock


Bachelor of Education ECE/Primary

After completing her degree at the University of Wollongong, Louise spent a couple of years travelling overseas and around Australia. During this time she also lived in London and taught children in preschool and primary schools. 

​Louise moved to Armidale in 2007 with her husband and they now have two young children. She has worked in long day care for the past ten years as both a teacher and a director. Louise works part time, co sharing the Purple Group with Sharron on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday .

Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care and Office Administration         


Miranda has two children, a son who is in grade 1 and a daughter who is in grade 4 at school. She is currently working as an Early Childhood Educator on Wednesday 8.15am to 3.15pm and on Thursday and Fridays 8.15am to 12.45pm. She is assisting Jane in the office on Tuesdays.

Diploma of Community Services (Children's Services) 

Sue has a long association with the preschool. Her four children all attended preschool at St Peters. Sue was on the Board for many years and served as President of the Board.

Sue has worked in the Early Childhood industry for 20 years in different settings, including long day care, play group facilitator and early childhood education.

Sue has also worked with children with additional needs.

Sue works 8.30am to 12.30pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care

Jill emigrated to Australia from the UK in 2018. She has worked in both primary and secondary schools and joined the team at St Peters in 2017 after gaining a Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education.

Jill in the mother of four boys. She has completed her Diploma during her time working at St Peters.

Jill works 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday 

Jill Walker 


Certificate III Children's Services 

Lee completed her Certificate III in Children's Services in 2010. She has been working in Long Day Care and Early Learning Centres for 10 years. Lee would like to further her education by completing her Diploma. 

Lee has 2 young children and enjoys spending time with them, she also enjoys camping and reading. 

Lee works Monday 8.15am to 3.45pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30am to 3.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm
